ABSTRACT
Tremor is an involuntary rhythmic oscillation that can affect one or several body parts and it is the most common abnormal movement. A thorough clinical history and evaluation are essential to the diagnosis, identifying the topographic distribution, conditions of onset, frequency and amplitude. Its causes are diverse and to identify them is fundamental for treatment. This paper describes the most common tremor syndromes and their treatment, including some strategies to achieve their clinical differentiation.
