ABSTRACT
The obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) presents a symptomatic diversity that seems to reflect several cerebral regions. The hypothesis of work indicates that to a larger number of symptoms less cerebral localization is found . That is to say, the symptomatic heterogenicity cannot be reduced to one single cerebral area. Therefore, it is required to corroborate the anatomical-histochemical findings, the current semiology, and the presence or not of OCD spectrum disorder. It is assumed that the theorem confirms the presence of cerebral lesions in different areas of the brain in patients with OCD. Besides, the histochemical progression of the neurotransmitters from the posterior part of the brain (
locus coeruleus and raphe) forward, and the putative cerebral loops of the OCD, constitute a corroborative factor to the theorem hypothesis.
