Antibiotics usage knowledge among emergency department medical personel

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The antibiotics are between among the groups of medicines of major consumption and your inadequate prescription he carries a series of risks and disadvantages, including toxicity, creation of resistances, superinfection for fungi, not treatment healing of the disease and an unnecessary increase of the pharmaceutical expense. The aim of this work was to determined knowledge that has the personnel of urgencies in the use of antibiotics.
Methods: A study realized observational, market, transversely and comparatively, that included 34 assigned doctors, who were polled; by means of a questionnaire constituted by four clinical cases and four indicators: mechanism of action (share), indication, agent etiologic and dose.
Results: 79.4% of the doctors was located in the average level, while 7 (20.6%) did it in the high place and none located in under.
Conclusions: An average level exists, with deficiencies (faults) in the knowledge on agents etiologic and mechanism of action (share).
