ABSTRACT
Introduction: Considerating the patient who suffer preeclampsia is on critical side, it is very important to know if high abdominal pressure could modify any physiological function as circulatory, respiratory, renal, gastrointestinal, liver as well as nervous system.
Objective: Estimate and compare intraabdominal pressure between normal pregnancy and preeclamptic pregnancy.
Material and methods: Comparative study of control cases included free population of 51 pregnances women, 25 patients with normal pregnancy and 26 with preeclamptic pregnancy. Intraabdominal pressure was taken in both groups by urinary catheter and the results were compared.
Results: Patients with preeclampsia have intraabdominal hypertension in comparison with the group of patients with normal pregnancy.
