Conservative surgery for renal solid tumors

ABSTRACT
Antecedents. The conservative surgery it has become an option treatment in patients with solid tumors of kidney.
Material and methods. 60 patients with diagnosis of solid tumor of kidney subjected to conservative surgery from 1983 up to 2003, pursuit among 6 months and 20 years.
Inclusion approaches. Torced surgery (monorrenos and bilateral tumor), advisable (genetic illnesses) and optional (Tí-2NOMO).
Results. The sex masculine (32 men) prevailed. The age oscillated between 35 and 74 years (average 46.5). Carcinoma of renal cells prevailed (55%), followed by angiomiolipoma (27.7%) and other (17.3%). The size oscillated between 9 cm and 1.5 cm for an average of 3.8 cm. The mortality was on 11.6%, 5% for dissemination, 5% with genetic illness and 1.6% with hepatic cirrhosis not related to the base illness. The complications were a case with urinary fistula resolved with double catheter J and reintervention for hemorrhage in two patients.
Conclusions. The conservative surgery in the solid tumors of kidney constitutes an effective alternative of treatment provided the selection approaches are respected reaching 90% of surgical success and a bigger survival to 5 years.
