ABSTRACT
Introduction: The purpose of this work is to analyze different software for dietary analysis, directed to the nutrition professional, as a guide to choose the one that better suits their needs.
Material and Methods: Different parameters were considered related to the requirements of a quality software according to the ISO standards and characteristics demanded by the nutrition professional, obtaining twelve examined variables, others variables considered of importance are also analyzed to achieve a more objective study.
Results: A total of nine programs were obtained for assessment; the highest punctuation was attained by the Equilibra system, while the least costly was NutriPac software. However it is important to consider the assessment of each parameter for better analysis.
Conclusions: Each system possesses advantages in its use, the preference depends on the health professional’s orientation.
