ABSTRACT
There are many environmental factors related to colorectal cancer. Fat meals, with threeglicerids, roast meat and low quantity of fiber, colud lead to this neoplasm. Smoke and beer, are other related factors. There are other elements in the intestinal lumen, related with colorectal cancer: biliar acids, metabolits from intestinal bacterial flora, and other carcinogenic elements in the stools. In opposition, there are diet factors that could protect against colorectal cancer; like calcium, vitamin D, phosphate, butirats, and mainly the diet fiber; this benefits has been demostrated by epidemiologic, experimental and clinical studies.
