ABSTRACT
Since its description, the thoracic duct has been of little interest for the anatomists and the surgeons. This duct has three portions: abdominal, thoracic and cervical. Each one of them presents variations that have clinical-surgical importance. The knowledge of its morphology will allow the surgeons to avoid its lesion.
