ABSTRACT
Premature newborns specially with low weight are at a high risk of suffering subglotic stenosis; owing to the small size of the airway, immaturity of the respiratory system as well as the need for ventilatory support. The incidence of tracheobronchial stenosis in premature newborns receiving ventilatory support varies from 1.2 to 11%.
We present six cases of premature newborns who required mechanical ventilation and developed tracheobronchial stenosis.
