Estenosis traqueal o bronquial causada por intubación prolongada del recién nacido

RESUMEN
Los recién nacidos prematuros y en especial los de muy bajo peso tienen alto riesgo de presentar estenosis traqueobronquial subglótica; cuando reciben ventilación artificial debido a la pequeña dimensión de la vía aérea y la inmadurez de su sistema respiratorio problema relacionado con su bajo peso. La estenosis traqueobronquial ocurre entre 1.2 y 11% de los prematuros, sobre todo la subglótica cuando han recibido ventilación artificial.
Se presentan seis recién nacidos prematuros sometidos a ventilación mecánica que sufrieron estenosis traqueobronquial.
