ABSTRACT
Eighteen cases of type B neck femoral fractures are reported here according to the OA classification. These fractures were treated through close reduction in fracture table and fixed by a hip dynamic system using cannular screws. This is a retrospective, observational, transversal, and comparative study, counting on “chi” square statistical analysis with the purpose of comparing fixing systems. This study was carried out at the Articular Replacement Service (Servicio de Reemplazos Articulares) of the “Lomas Verdes” Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopedics, belonging to the IMSS (National Health Care Institution). This study was performed on a group of people ranging between 18 and 45 years old, from both sexs, with an average age of 23 years old, without a predominating sex inside the group. The average surgical time for the cannular screws was of 75 minutes and in the hip dynamic system it was of 90 minutes. The x-ray consolidation in cannular screws was obtained after sixteen weeks. In four cases late complications were present; this corresponds to the 40% of the patients treated through dynamic hip screws which presented avascular necrosis. This last development was attributed to the fracture stroke instability to the vascular lesion of the head at the moment of the traumatism occurrence. No complications were found in patients treated by cannular screws.REFERENCES
