RESUMEN

Objetivo. Evaluar los resultados clínicos a mediano plazo a los pacientes con pinzamiento subacromial sometidos a tratamiento quirúrgico abierto. Material y métodos. Se realizó un estudio transversal descriptivo en 64 pacientes con el diagnóstico de pinzamiento subacromial, bajo tratamiento quirúrgico abierto, durante el período comprendido de enero a diciembre del 2003, por seis cirujanos, con el objetivo de evaluar funcionalmente el hombro operado mediante una escala funcional de la UCLA (0-30 puntos). Se realizó estadística descriptiva mediante frecuencias simples, medidas de tendencia central y dispersión. Resultados. Con un seguimiento de 12 ± 6 meses, la mediana en edad fue de 52 años, el sexo femenino predominó con el 69% de los pacientes; el hombro que se lesionó con más frecuencia fue el derecho en 61%, se obtuvo un resultado funcional bueno (mediana 24 puntos) y una satisfacción de 84%. Conclusión. El resultado clínico de los pacientes con pinzamiento subacromial sometidos a tratamiento quirúrgico abierto fue bueno de acuerdo a la escala funcional de la UCLA.
