ABSTRACT
The arterial peripheral vascular disease is defined as a pathology of the blood vessels that limits the flow through the tissue (affecting mainly
inferior extremities). It has a frequency of 10% in adults older than sixty years of age. Their treatment is surgical in most of the cases. The
knowledge of the demographic data and the co-existent pathologies of the patients that enter to surgery, will show the integral scene, because, in
most of the cases, the peripheral arterial disease, is just a reflection of a series of systemic affections. There are several anesthetic techniques that
can be offer to these patients. In this article the advantages and disadvantages of the general anesthesia and the regional anesthesia are exposed.
