ABSTRACT
Eosinophilic cellulitis or Wells’ syndrome is a reactional dermatologic entity. Cutaneous lesions are variable in appearance and may be confused with persistent insect bites, urticaria, infectious cellulitis and contact dermatitis. Microscopically there is a dense dermal infiltrate of eosinophils and granulomatous features with characteristic “flame figures” become apparent. Treatment with corticosteroids is frequently effective, but the disease is often characterized by relapses that can occur for several years.
