ABSTRACT
The fibromatoses are slow-growing fibrous tumors that spread to local invasion, without producing metastases and with postoperative recurrence. The ethiology and the mechanisms of formation have not been fully determined. Palmar-plantar fibromatosis has been associated with smoking, alcoholic liver disease, Diabetes and seizure disorders. The diagnosis is clinical with appearance of firm nodules or tumors like cords following the tendons. MR imaging is useful for diagnosis and has become valuablein planning surgical treatment.
