ABSTRACT
The present work shows the results of the neuroendoscopic technique versus ventricle-peritonea shunt among to 2 years and 5 months.
The values studied were demographics, clinics, and mobility and its actual state.
We classified 4 categories according previous pathology: tumoral, hemorrhagic, infectious and spontaneous. Results: 62 patients with hydrocephalus according its origin were: postumoral 46.8 (n=29), posthemorragica 17.5% (n11),postinfeccious 13.1% (n=8), spontaneous 22.6% (n=14). The derivative procedure had 72% of satisfactory results (p=0.35) ; the outcome in patients derivate with endoscopic procedure with postumoral hydrocephalus was higher than the simple derivation (RR=1.10, in interval 0.87‹RR‹1.39). The endoscopic procedure showed more security this reflected in the number of reinterventions witch was lower. The endoscopic procedure showed a higer statistic rate over the simple ventricular derivation.
