ABSTRACT

This paper reviews the clinical features and operational definitions of candidemia, fungemia, transitory candidemia, acute disseminated candidemia and chronic disseminated candidiasis. The clinical, laboratory and image diagnosis and management of acute and chronic disseminated candidiasis are discussed.
