ABSTRACT
Introduction: The systemic procedural educational model acquires a particular significance due to the fact that it offers a promotion and education for health to the elderly in prison conditions, of higher quality, more practice, and also contributes to the strengthening of the human resources that participate in it.Objective: To design a systemic-procedural educational model for the elderly to promote oral health in the Cuban prison context.
Results: A development study was carried out in the Medical Services of the Ministry of the Interior, for the design of an educational model of systemic-procedural oral health of the elderly in the prison context. The non-probabilistic sample according to the authors' criteria was made up of 33 articles published in biomedical databases (Pubmed, Cumed, Lilacs, ClinicalKey, SciELO). The educational strategy model contributed to the conservation of the oral health of the elderly prisoner, making them take care of and value their health through the assimilation, internalization and practice of healthy behaviors.
Conclusions: With the model, the details and unavoidable circumstances are instituted for the improvement of the promotion and health education of the incarcerated older adult, based on a systematic procedural integration between its components, in which they assume a different role as a dynamic subject of their own health education.
