ABSTRACT
Background: COVID-19 is a disease characterized by typical and atypical findings
on imaging studies, which may or may not lead to severe acute respiratory syndrome.
COVID-19 symptoms of most patients are very similar to those of other respiratory
infections. Being in a pandemic, the centralization of management and treatment
around it is common. However, this circumstance should not make us forget the rest
of the respiratory diseases.
Clinical case: A 57-year-old male, without comorbidities, positive SARS-CoV-2
Conclusions: In patients with COVID-19, the possibility of co-infection with other
pathogens should always be investigated so that treatment guidelines are timely and
cover both causes from the early stages of the disease.
