ABSTRACT

This work presents our long term results of alveolar osteogenesis after pre and post-surgical orthodontics combined with Millard’s alveolar periostoplasty. It is a retrospective and comparative study presenting an evolution developed from 1992 to this day. Long term follow-up could be performed in 70% of the patients. We concluded with the alveolar osteogenesis and the multidisciplinary treatment, cleft patients with cleft lip and palate have good long term results. The periostoplasty and perioperative orthodontics combined with the palatal growth plate, is an alternative for patients with cleft lip and palate. Our results are similar to those reported by other authors.
