ABSTRACT
Introduction: Work stress has been studied in different perspectives, as well as its physical, psychological and psychosocial conse-quences, health workers being an important focus of interest. How-ever, there is little evidence of studies on imaging and clinical labora-tory workers. Objective: To determine the association of sociodemo-graphic, work and health factors with the perception of work stress, in health workers of the clinical laboratory and imaging of a highly complex hospital in Chile, Ñuble region, 2019. Material and method: Study of quantitative, analytical cross-sectional approach. The studied population consisted of workers from the units of the clinical labora-tory and imaging of the clinical hospital ‘Herminda Martín’ in Chillán, to whom a questionnaire of sociodemographic, work and health factors and an International Labor Office – World Health Organization labor stress questionnaire were applied, which measures the perception of work Stress in its participants. 2 test and multiple Poisson regression were applied. Results: 52% of the workers perceive an “intermediate stress level”, which is associated with the age group over 35 years and being a woman; likewise, it is associated with perceiving an excessive workload “frequently/always”, and perceiving their health as “poor/regular”. Conclusions: There is an association between the stress perceived by health workers with age, sex, and the perception of excessive workload. Also important results have been obtained that should be considered in future research, using a larger sample of workers.REFERENCES
