ABSTRACT
Cybernetic analysis of cardiac frequency variability shows a dysautonomy, prevalent in patients with fibromyalgia. Dyautonemy is characterized by constant sympathetic hyperreactivity with a paradoxical stress hyporreactivity. Sympathetic hyperreactivity in patients with fibromyalgia can explain their sleep disorders, and hyporreactivity may explain constant fatigue and matinal rigidity. These new knowledges, generated at the National Institute of Cardiology “Ignacio Chavez”, opens new perspectives in the treatment of fibromyalgia.
