ABSTRACT
Pain is one of the main reasons for consultation and an important issue for the medical student since he will deal with it throughout his professional life. This article reviews the current definition of pain; as an associated unpleasant sensory and emotional experience, similar to actual or potential tissue injury. Similarly, the medical student will find himself facing clinical situations where it is important to know the physiology of pain, as well as the criteria for its classification and measurement.REFERENCES
