ABSTRACT
Objective. To determine the efficiency of the LASER lithotripsy as treatment of the uretheral’s calculus. Quantity the complications presented with the LASER employment as treatment of the urinary stones. To establish the advantages between the two applicate systems.
Material and methods. Experimental study, prospective, transverse, comparative and open; in where they are selected two groups (group 1: 25 patients, group 2: 10 patients) of referred hospital patients belonging to the area of influence of the HECMN “La Raza”. To the first is applied the treatment with Candela LASER MDL-2000 and to the seconds with Lithognost.
Results. The group 1 of 25 patients treated with Candela laser MDL-2000 presented a fragmentation efficiency of the 100%, without complications due to this procedure; the second group of 10 patients treated with LASER Lithognost presented the same results, no existing difference significative statistically in the following items: direct shoots on the stone, fragmentation time, complications, percentage of efficiency, age and sex. They are evident the therapeutic advantages of the laser energy in relationship to the technical conventionalment used. We find solely difference significative statistically in the impulse frequency laser.
Conclusions. The LASER treatment is effective, low-cost, promp recovery and rapid integration of the patient to daily life, low percentages of complications and safety in the application of the same. Existing clear conformity with it reported in the world literature.
