RESUMEN
La rehabilitación temprana puede reducir las complicaciones asociadas a la inmovilidad, existe evidencia de la eficacia de la rehabilitación temprana en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neurológicos, sin embargo, puede no ser empleada debido a la falta de información sobre los beneficios generales, seguridad y viabilidad, lo anterior debe estar garantizado mediante el conocimiento del tiempo de inicio, la intensidad, variables hemodinámicas y efectos farmacológicos. La implementación de un programa de rehabilitación temprana en pacientes neurológicos en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos es de gran importancia para la prevención de discapacidad.
