Vitamina D y su papel en el sistema inmune

RESUMEN
Al ser catalogada como una vitamina y clasificarse como un nutrimento dispensable, se dejó su función por un tiempo limitada al metabolismo óseo y sus enfermedades asociadas con ese nivel, sin embargo, con el tiempo fueron describiéndose a principios de este siglo la actividad genómica en la que estaba relacionada la vitamina D, así como los efectos directos y rápidos que causaba a nivel molecular, modificándose respuestas celulares en diferentes ámbitos y en diversos pasos metabólicos, por lo que se observó su efecto como contexto a nivel celular y ahora como causa de enfermedad como tal, por lo que ha motivado su estudio en diferentes enfermedades a diferentes órganos y sistemas, por lo que ahora se hace una revisión de su función sobre la salud y la enfermedad en el sistema inmune. Y además describimos lo difícil de obtener de la ingesta diaria, así como describir las dosis más actuales recomendadas en su deficiencia y en la enfermedad.
