Consideraciones específicas para deportistas en las lesiones de manguito rotador

RESUMEN
Las lesiones de manguito rotador en el deportista tienen características particulares derivadas de la alta demanda del hombro que requiere lograr un desempeño competitivo. En una revisión bibliográfica de artículos con relevancia para lesiones de manguito rotador en deportistas, se extrajeron los aspectos más importantes que auxilian en el abordaje diagnóstico y terapéutico según los síntomas, hallazgos clínicos e imagenológicos, así como la pauta de tratamiento y el pronóstico funcional, puesto que primordialmente en los deportes de lanzamiento, existen altas expectativas de retorno a los niveles de desempeño previos a la lesión.
