Estudio de la calidad de vida en pacientes tres meses después de un ictus

RESUMEN
Introducción: Hoy en día, el ictus es considerado un problema de
salud pública cuyas consecuencias son alteraciones físicas, cognitivas
y emocionales, que en la mayoría de los casos, afectan a la calidad de
vida del paciente tanto a corto como a largo plazo.
Objetivo: Describir la calidad de vida en pacientes con ictus de la
ciudad de Ibagué, Colombia tres meses después de la lesión.
Métodos: Se reclutaron 40 personas con ictus y 40 personas sanas
con características similares en edad, educación y género. A los
participantes se les administró un cuestionario sociodemográfico y el
cuestionario de calidad de vida SF-36.
Resultados: Se encontraron diferencias significativas entre los
controles y las personas con ictus en todas las subescalas del SF-36,
presentando éstos últimos puntajes inferiores en las Subescalas de
Funcionamiento Físico, Rol Físico, Rol Emocional, Vitalidad, Salud
Mental, Función Social, Dolor Corporal y Salud General.
Conclusiones: El grupo de personas con ictus presentó calidad de
vida más baja, en todos los subcomponentes del SF-36, tres meses
después de la lesión en comparación con el grupo control. Estos
hallazgos resaltan la importancia de implementar programas de
tratamiento y apoyo desde los primeros tres meses tras el ictus, con
el fin de facilitar su reinserción laboral, social y familiar.
