Fístula arteriovenosa pial traumática que simula una fístula carotidocavernosa: una enfermedad infrecuente con una presentación excepcional

RESUMEN
Las fístulas arteriovenosas piales (FAVP) traumáticas son lesiones raras. Entre los datos clínicos más importantes se describen los relacionados con el efecto de volumen y la hemorragia, pero nunca se han descrito datos inherentes al flujo retrógrado hacia las venas oftálmicas, como sucede en las fístulas carotidocavernosas (FCC). Presentamos un caso de un paciente con una FAVP traumática dependiente de la arteria carótida interna (ACI) intracraneal que simuló una FCC directa y que además se asoció a una conducta agresiva. Se detalla el manejo endovascular, que incluyó el uso de stent, coils y etilene-vinil-alcohol (EVOH) asistido con balón.
