Linfomas extraganglionares en la cabeza y el cuello: características clínicas, patológicas, inmunofenotípicas y genotípicas

RESUMEN
Se revisan las características clínicas, histológicas, inmunofenotípicas y genotípicas de los linfomas extraganglionares primarios en la cabeza y el cuello. Representan menos del 10% de todos los linfomas extraganglionares y afectan, principalmente, a pacientes varones mayores de 40 años de edad. La mayoría son de tipo no Hodgkin difusos de linfocitos B y ocasionalmente de Hodgkin. El anillo linfático de Waldeyer es la localización más frecuente y la laringe la más rara. Aun cuando el diagnóstico es posible en material cito-histológico bien obtenido y procesado, con frecuencia requiere técnicas inmunofenotípicas y genotípicas para su identifi cación y diferenciación con distintos procesos benignos y malignos que los simulan.
