RESUMEN
La enzima Na
+, K
+ ATPasa en cerebro es una proteína integral de la membrana celular encargada de transportar iones de sodio y potasio, es propensa a sufrir alteraciones en presencia de otros iones y moléculas de carácter endógeno y exógeno, incluyendo a los radicales libres provenientes del metabolismo de oxígeno y nitrógeno celular. Los radicales libres provocan estrés oxidativo, daño al ADN e incluso muerte celular, es posible dar seguimiento al daño de estos radicales mediante la evaluación de la enzima Na
+, K
+ ATPasa como importante biomarcador de estrés oxidativo en cerebro, como se muestra en el presente trabajo de revisión.
