RESUMEN
Uno de los mayores retos para el clínico ante la presencia de una enfermedad de tipo infeccioso, es dilucidar al agente causal. Cuando se logra este primer paso y una vez que se establece el diagnóstico, el siguiente paso es instaurar el tratamiento adecuado al agente causal, ya que, de no ser así, las consecuencias pueden ser fatales. La fiebre manchada de las Montañas Rocosas constituye el tipo de padecimientos que siempre debe considerarse como una opción. El presente artículo, tiene por objeto revisar los puntos más importantes de esta entidad.
