RESUMEN
La anafilaxia desencadenada por alimentos es causa de problema de amenaza de muerte en pacientes pediátricos. Por esto, en los niños se debe investigar cuidadosamente la historia de reacciones a los alimentos. Es importante evitar completamente alimentos que hayan provocado reacciones alérgicas. Todos los pacientes con reacciones de hipersensibilidad a alimentos deben traer consigo por escrito identificación y manejo de la anafilaxia. Como el tratamiento específico de la anafilaxia es la epinefrina, no se debe retrasar su uso y así evitar un desenlace fatal.
