El padre en la etapa perinatal

RESUMEN
Tradicionalmente, el padre se mantenía alejado de las diferentes etapas del embarazo concentrándose sólo en ser el proveedor, sobre todo en las sociedades patriarcales donde diversos factores culturales influían para determinar su actitud en torno al embarazo y la paternidad. Sin embargo, desde hace algunos años en las sociedades industrializadas esta actitud ha cambiado paulatinamente y el padre se ha involucrado cada vez más durante el embarazo, el parto y la infancia temprana trayendo consigo efectos psicológicos, físicos e incluso sociales propios de este otro punto de vista sobre la paternidad.
