Tratamiento de la cefalalgia pospunción dural: Pasado, presente y futuro (Parte 2)

RESUMEN

Hasta el día de hoy, la cefalalgia se presenta como una complicación frecuente de la punción lumbar, ya sea ésta intencional (para procedimientos diagnósticos o terapéuticos) en la anestesia subaracnoidea, o accidentalmente durante el bloqueo epidural. Los conocimientos generados en el pasado con relación a las medidas de tratamiento más útiles y con buenos resultados, aún se aplican en el presente. En los siguientes años, se investigan y se aportan nuevas alternativas terapéuticas para la cefalalgia pospunción dural (CPPD). En la segunda parte de esta revisión, se presentan las evidencias más recientes en el tratamiento de la cefalalgia pospunción dural, así como las aplicaciones que tienen en pacientes con otras patologías que requieren punción lumbar, y que presentan cefalalgia pospunción sin respuesta al tratamiento conservador y en los que está contraindicado el parche hemático epidural.
