Marcadores serológicos de hepatitis viral (A, B, C)

RESUMEN

Se analizaron y tabularon estadísticamente los resultados obtenidos en 3,731 estudios serológicos para hepatitis viral de los tipos A, B y C en el mismo número de pacientes con sospecha clínica de infección. Se utilizó el equipo automatizado AXYM y las técnicas inmunoenzimática de micropartículas (MEIA) y de RIBA. A pesar de la disponibilidad de inmunización específica y efectiva para el virus de la hepatitis viral de tipo B, y de métodos y criterios bien establecidos para la prevención de su transmisión, este agente etiológico fue el más encontrado, seguido por el de la hepatitis C, combinaciones de ambos, y el de tipo A. Uno de cada cuatro pacientes con serología positiva al virus B fue considerado como altamente infectante por la presencia del antígeno «e» del virus B; la prueba confirmatoria para hepatitis viral de tipo C fue positiva sólo en 71.6% de los 247 casos repetidamente reactivos. Los diagnósticos clínicos más frecuentes en los pacientes reactivos fueron el de infección renal crónica en hemodiálisis y el de hepatitis viral crónica o aguda.
