RESUMEN
El manejo del paciente con abdomen agudo es sin duda por su frecuencia de presentación en todo servicio de urgencias médico-quirúrgicas o centro especializado de trauma, una entidad en que debemos mantenernos actualizados en sus diversas modalidades diagnósticas, padecimientos y opciones en su tratamiento. En el presente estudio se hace una revisión concreta de las modalidades de semiología, algoritmo general de tratamiento y manejo y se hace referencia a las opciones quirúrgicas de mínima invasión como la cirugía endoscópica o de mínima invasión y NOTES por su acrónimo en inglés (Natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery), en pacientes con patología abdominal que requieren tratamiento de urgencia en sus modalidades asociadas al trauma y las que tienen un origen médico-quirúrgico no traumático.
