RESUMEN

Las células dendríticas son un componente esencial del sistema inmunológico reticular accesorio. Las células dendríticas foliculares (CDF) están en el tejido linfoide, asociadas con los linfocitos B y desempeñan un papel fundamental en la captura y presentación de antígenos, así como en la producción y regulación de complejos inmunes. Pueden ser reconocidas desde el punto de vista histológico por su núcleo ovoide a triangular, una delicada membrana nuclear basófila, cromatina vesiculosa, un pequeño nucleolo central y límites celulares indistinguibles; algunas pueden ser bi o multinucleadas. En cuanto a su ultraestructura se caracterizan por delicados procesos citoplasmáticos conectados por desmosomas. Inmunohistoquímicamente se caracterizan por reactividad a CD21, CD35, R4/23, Ki-M4, CNA42 y CD68 (Kp1). Los sarcomas originados de CDF son raros y afectan primordialmente a ganglios linfáticos, con compromiso extranodal ocasional. Es probable que numerosos casos sean confundidos con otros tumores como linfomas de células grandes, carcinomas sarcomatoides, sarcomas fusocelulares o melanomas. Informamos cinco casos de sarcomas de CDF, y hacemos hincapié en sus características clinicopatológicas e inmunohistoquímicas.
