RESUMEN
Se presenta un estudio de recapitulación de una de las causas indirectas más frecuentes de mortalidad materna. El objetivo principal es crear conciencia y alertar a la población médica de la necesidad del diagnóstico oportuno y el tratamiento adecuado cardiológico y obstétrico. Se hace referencia a los principales cambios hemodinámicos en la mujer embarazada, el riesgo de muerte según el padecimiento específico y a los parámetros de control obstétricos y cardiológicos. Con esto se trata de disminuir lo más posible la mortalidad materna y perinatal.
