Resultados radiográficos y funcionales de placa de compresión dinámica vs placa de compresión acerrojada en fracturas diafisarias de radio y/o cúbito

RESUMEN
Objetivo: Determinar si existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre los resultados radiográficos y funcionales en los pacientes postoperados con placas de compresión dinámica (DCP,
dynamic compression plate)
vs placas de compresión acerrojada (LCP,
locking compression plate) en fracturas diafisarias de radio y/o cúbito.
Material y métodos: Estudio cuasi-experimental, observacional, longitudinal, comparativo y prospectivo de pacientes operados con los implantes arriba mencionados por fractura diafisaria de radio y/o cúbito en el Hospital General Balbuena en el período del 01/09/04 al 28/02/05, con 2 años de seguimiento.
Resultados: Se estudiaron 22 pacientes con placa de compresión dinámica y 11 con placa de compresión autobloqueada, masculinos 88%, predominantemente de la 3ª década de la vida, presentando predominantemente datos de consolidación temprana el grupo de placa de compresión autobloqueada pero con mayor limitación funcional, diferencias que disminuyen a los 3 meses de postoperatorio y aún más a los 6 meses, sin diferencia estadísticamente significativa a los 2 años.
Conclusiones: A pesar de que existen diferencias al mes y a los 3 meses de postoperatorio atribuibles al tipo de estabilidad que provee cada implante, al inicio de la movilización y al manejo de tejidos blandos, no hay diferencia estadísticamente significativa en los resultados preliminares a 6 meses y finales a 2 años, por lo que se considera que los implantes en estudio a pesar de actuar de forma relativamente distinta son ambos alternativas excelentes para el tratamiento de los pacientes con fracturas de la diáfisis de los huesos del antebrazo.
