Tratamiento funcional de los esguinces del tobillo grados I y II

RESUMEN

Los esguinces del ligamento colateral lateral del tobillo son muy comunes y existe controversia en cuanto a su tratamiento, algunos autores recomiendan movilización temprana del tobillo, otros recomiendan inmovilización por una a seis semanas con aparato de yeso y algunos insisten en la reparación quirúrgica de los ligamentos. Sin embargo, en nuestra experiencia hemos visto que los mejores resultados se obtienen en aquellos pacientes que se manejan con movilización temprana y con un adecuado programa de rehabilitación. Se presentan los resultados de 15 pacientes con esguinces de tobillo grados I y II los cuales fueron manejados con movilización temprana y programa de terapia física.
