Defectos de tubo neural en hijos de mujeres expuestas a contaminantes ambientales en la zona metropolitana de Guadalajara 2003-2005

RESUMEN
Los defectos en la formación del tubo neural son causa de muchas malformaciones que cambian la vida de las personas que las sufren y sus familias. Algunos de estos defectos son causados por la toxicidad de diversas sustancias como el tabaco o el tolueno así como la falta de nutrientes o vitaminas sobre todo el ácido fólico y desde luego las alteraciones genéticas cada vez mas estudiadas. En el trabajo se analizan 77 recién nacidos en cuatro hospitales durante dos años en la ciudad de Guadalajara , Jalisco. La posible prevención de esta situación se plantea.
