Relación entre ansiedad y consumo de alcohol en médicos residentes: estudio transversal en un hospital general de zona de la región centro-sur de México

RESUMEN
Objetivo: Este estudio explora la relación entre síntomas de ansiedad y consumo de alcohol en médicos residentes del Hospital General de Zona Número 20 “La Margarita” del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, ubicado en Puebla, México, dentro de la Región Centro-Sur, con el propósito de mejorar su salud mental y bienestar.
Material y métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional en 106 médicos residentes de 25 a 32 años. Se emplearon los cuestionarios GAD-7 y AUDIT para medir ansiedad y consumo de alcohol. El análisis incluyó una correlación de Spearman con SPSS v25.
Resultados: El 54.7% presentó ansiedad moderada-severa y el 55.6% consumo de alcohol de riesgo. La correlación fue positiva y significativa (r = 0.862, p ‹ 0.001), sugiriendo una relación entre ambas.
Conclusiones: Se observa una alta prevalencia de ansiedad y consumo de alcohol, lo que señala la urgencia de fortalecer programas de apoyo en las instituciones de salud. Se sugieren estudios longitudinales.
