Tratamiento de la taquicardia ventricular

RESUMEN

La evaluación y tratamiento de la taquicardia ventricular postinfarto ha cambiado dramáticamente en las últimas dos décadas. La introducción del desfibrilador automático implantable ha sido el avance más importante en el tratamiento de estos enfermos, dejando pocas opciones de evaluación y tratamiento. Los episodios de taquicardia ventricular monomórfica sostenida pueden ocurrir en una gran variedad de entidades clínicas, siendo más frecuente en pacientes que han tenido un infarto del miocardio. En este artículo, reviso las causas y los efectos de algunos de estos cambios y analizo las estrategias terapéuticas, especialmente la ablación con radiofrecuencia en el tratamiento de los pacientes con taquicardia ventricular postinfarto del miocardio.
