ABSTRACT
Telemedicine and videoconferencing consultations tend to be more common in the context of the current pandemic. This paper presents reflections on how the patientphysician relationship is affected when technological mediation exists and how communication and responsibility are modified, for example in the data collection of biomedical information necessary for diagnosis and treatment in the face of the impossibility of physical examination. The text also refers to the computer programs available with advanced technologies that allow the organization of private consultation in virtual mode. Innovative organizational strategies tend to expand also in remote medical services within the framework of primary health care to promote prevention and achieve greater social justice in health. A relevant issue with regard to video consultation concerns to medical education. The need to develop competencies and skills in clinical practice is an unavoidable aspect prior to the exercise of video consultation; health professionals require experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities to discern when a consultation can be purely virtual and when face-to-face meeting is necessary. In conclusion, this paper briefly addresses some of the scopes and limitations of this virtual modality of health care.REFERENCES
