ABSTRACT
A group of ten patients, six with symbrachydactyly, three with congenital webs and one with preaxial radial failure were treated with toe-to-hand transfer to build the hand pincer. A total of 14 fingers were transposed: 6 little fingers, 3 ring fingers, 2 middle fingers, 2 thumbs, one index finger. This technique provided excellent results since it provided them with sensitivity, growth and function. Cases are described using parametric and descriptive statistics. Results were excellent from the functional perspective, although the cosmetic result was fair. The main hypothesis was proven, since it was possible to build the finger pincer. We conclude that the procedure is good and the results are similar to those reported by other authors. This paper reviews the indications, technique, complications and results of toe-to-hand transposition.
