ABSTRACT
The phrase "solution of continuity" is an adverbial phrase that means "interruption or lack of continuity on a surface." It is a relatively confusing and not very intuitive expression, which is why it is often applied incorrectly with the opposite meaning to what it is really intended to express; this happens even in university texts; the most common use of this term refers to wounds and scars that are observed in the skin or bone fractures and that are often defined as solutions of continuity. In forensic sciences and criminalistics more specifically, a solution of continuity is defined for the holes that are observed in the clothing of people related to a criminal case and which are caused by the passage of projectiles fired with weapons fire and other factors.REFERENCES
