Análisis demográfico de cardiopatías congénitas en un hospital de secretaría de salud Jalisco

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Pediatric Cardiology and cardiovascular
surgery have made significant progress in recent years,
however Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) remain
one of the leading causes of mortality in Children.
Objective: To know the demographic aspects of CC in
the hospital.
Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive
study was conducted from January 2017 to January
2018, including all patients with newly diagnosed
structural CHD, age, sex, type of heart disease,
management, mortality were recorded.
Results: a total
of 468 patients were admitted, the most affected gender
was the male with 55.7%, the most frequent type of
CHD were those with increased pulmonary flow with
85.7%, the patent ductus arteriosus being the most
frequent with the 15.17%. The mortality of the critical
CC is 80%.
