ABSTRACT
Surgical approach of valvulopaties in elderly persons shows some remarkable advances. Quirurgical choice requires considerations regarding the hemodynamic consequences of the valvular lesion, its symptoms and the presence of other comorbid states. Experience of the National Institute of Cardiology “Ignacio Chávez” in this area is broad and shows several succesful choices, with over life up to 91.1% in 5 years.
