ABSTRACT
This present work deals about a case report of peritoneal tuberculosis disease that is difficult to diagnose. Tuberculosis is a disease that even nowadays is a concern, especially when it presents in an atypical way, with difficult diagnosis. The case report discusses an 10-year-old child hospitalized in the Hospital Universitario Onofre Lopes (Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil) to investigate abdominal pain associated with the growth of abdominal mass and weight loss. General knowledge about tuberculosis and the atypical forms of presentation of the disease are necessary to avoid delay in treatment and increase the possibility of longer survival and better prognosis, hence the importance of publishing this article.
